Pittsburgh Pirates Win Playoff Game –

The Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Cincinnati Reds 6-2 to win the National League wild-card game.  Marlon Byrd hit a homerun in the second inning for the Pirates to score the first run of the game.   Byrd was acquired by the Pirates at the end of summer.  Pittsburgh had 94 regular season wins and the Reds had 90 regular season wins.  The last time that Pittsburgh won a playoff game was in 1992.  Pittsburgh will play the St. Louis Cardinals on Thursday night in game one of the National League Divisional Series.  Adam Wainwright is expected to start game one for the Cardinals.
