Green Bay Packers Face Seahawks In Opener –

The National Football League schedule for the 2014 season has a few bright spots for the Green Bay Packers and New York Jets.  The schedule can play a large role in determining the playoff prospects for teams.

Green Bay Packers 2014 Schedule

The Green Bay Packers face the defending Super Bowl champions in the first game of the season.  Green Bay plays at Seattle on Thursday September 4th.  The Green Bay Packers home opener is against the New York Jets in week two.  Green Bay has to open the season strong as they face division rivals Detroit, Chicago, and Minnesota in the next three weeks.  One positive for the Packers is that they have a bye week in week nine of the season.  The bye week for the 2014 season is a few weeks later than the bye week for the 2013 season.  The Packers 2014 schedule also looks lighter for the month of December.  Last year, Green Bay finished the season 8-7-1 and was 3-2-1 against NFC North opponents.

New York Jets 2014 Schedule

The New York Jets start the season off at home against the Oakland Raiders.  New York faces tough opponents over the next few weeks of the season.  The Jets benefit from a bye week in week 11 of the season.  After the bye week, the Jets play four of their remaining six games against division opponents.  Last year, the New York Jets were 8-8 and 3-3 against AFC East opponents.
