Oregon held on to the number one spot in the AP poll after beating USC 53-32. Boise was still number two but lost some votes to Oregon and number 3 Auburn. Auburn defeated Mississippi 51-31 and trail Boise by only 7 votes in the AP poll. TCU remained number 4 and Alabama rounded out the top five.
