Republican Craig James Seeks Texas Senate Seat –

Craig James has announced that he will seek the US Senate seat held by Republican Kay Bailey Hutchison.  James is running as a Republican and is a strong candidate to fill the seat of the retiring Republican Senator.  Craig James has been a college football analyst for ESPN and a football player for SMU and the New England Patriots.  Currently, there are several Republican candidates in the race and James will benefit from the crowded field.  Texas Lt. Governor David Dewhurst is the front-runner and has already built a solid campaign.  However, Craig James has positive name recognition from being a college football player in Texas.  The Texas Republican primary is scheduled for April 3rd but may be pushed back due to redistricting.  The winner of the Texas Republican primary will most likely win the general election.
